Terrapin Hill Education Center is available for lease for private events, such as weddings, reunions, or other family celebrations. It is also an excellent location for small business groups or organizations to hold meetings, conferences, retreats or training sessions. We feel that the natural setting and relaxing ambience of the farm is conducive to creative thinking and developing group cohesion. Of course we always welcome school groups of any age or size who are interested in learning about where food comes from and how it is grown. Overnight trips and day camps are other excellent ways to experience farm life.
Meals on the Farm
We always encourage groups to plan to make a meal part of their visit to Terrapin Hill Education Center. There are many options on how to do this: cook your own, hire a caterer (we can suggest some), or we may even do the cooking ourselves depending on the size of the group. Either way, we’ll be happy to help with the planning, offering food grown on the farm if at all possible, and supplementing with food from other local farms. We believe that there is no comparison to food picked at its peak of ripeness and served fresh, and we recommend that tasting it for yourself (and your guests) should be part of your farm experience.
Terrapin Hill Farm is conveniently located directly off state route 152 in Mercer County, approximately one hour from Lexington, Frankfort, or Louisville. Harrodsburg is only 10 minutes away, a short drive for forgotten supplies or overnight lodging. There are also several places of interest nearby to visit, such as Fort Harrod State Park, Shaker Village, and the historic Perryville Battlefield.
Some events we have hosted in the past include:
