"The entire experience was magical from start to finish. We had people travel from near and far to attend. They rented campers and we all enjoyed each other’s company from Thursday through Sunday. Pete and Brenda were a joy to work with." - Heather, Howard OH

The Venue
located centrally, following the farm road past the farmhouse...

Picture
Farmhouse: Built in 1917 and renovated in 1990 and 2005, this gorgeous 2-story home includes a large kitchen and open living room and dining area. The back deck is a great place to hang out on nice days. The kitchen is stocked with cookware to create your own meals, or is available to caterers. There are 1.5 baths and 3 rooms upstairs which can be used as changing rooms for weddings.

Picture
Pavilion: This open-sided 40x60 building can hold up to 175 people for a seated dinner. The setting is secluded yet easily accessible by vehicles. The stage is adjustable to different sizes or can be removed, electricity is available and a water hydrant is nearby. Canvas tent sides can be closed for a little extra warmth or windblock. Nearby is a children’s playground, a flat area suitable for games, restrooms, parking area, and a bonfire site.

Picture
General Store: This building was built almost entirely from cedar poles and boards by Pete and friends and has had many uses over the years. For festivals we host, it's the place to find snacks, drinks, ice and camping supplies, so will always be known as the General Store to us, but you can use it for whatever purpose suits you. It's conveniently located close to the Pavilion, has a full size fridge and deep freezer (usually filled with bagged ice), sinks, shelves, and storage space. With a walk-up window and counter inside, it works great as a bar at weddings.

Picture
The Chapel: This one-of-a-kind structure is in a beautiful, intimate setting surrounded by tall trees. The gently sloping field provides an excellent view of the stage, and we can supply 40 wooden benches for seating. This is a great covered space for smaller workshops, or a wonderfully unique stage for performances. Electricity is available but lighting is not provided.

Picture
The Roundhouse: This handcrafted gazebo overlooking the pond is the perfect place for small workshops, retreat activities, or even as a camping spot. The middle of the floor has a section that lifts out so a small campfire can be built, and the roof is open above that spot to let out the smoke. This magical spot is a short walk from other parts of the venue but also secluded in its own little clearing.

Picture
The Terrapin Stage: A somewhat iconic building on the farm, this stage/equipment shed was designed and hand-crafted by Pete and friends in 1997 with cedar logs harvested from the farm, and in it's day it hosted many local and nationally-known music acts. The actual stage has been recently removed to make more room for equipment storage but the center section can still be used as a covered space for workshops. The gravel arena it sits on can also serve as a parking area for events held at the Pavilion.

Picture
Restrooms/Showers: The "Potty Barn" has divided sides for men and women, flush toilets, and the sinks have hot and cold running water. Paper products and soap are provided.

Picture
The showerhouse brings an added dimension of camping comfort for Terrapin visitors. Each separate area for men and women has 3 shower stalls and 2 sinks with instant hot water. Spigots with drinkable water are located in the vending area near the restrooms and behind the General Store.

The Fairgrounds
located at the east end of the farm...

This newly developed area of the farm currently has a well with potable water, and electricity is expected to be added in 2026.
Developed for the Brandywine Festival, the Fairgrounds is available for camping or other events which don't need a lot of infrastructure. It includes several large fields along the Chaplin River, and trails that lead to the ridge above. It's an absolutely beautiful part of the farm where you can feel like you are far away from civilization, yet it's easily accessible with gravel roads.

Picture
Camping: We always encourage camping out at the farm, especially for multiple-day events or for those truly wanting to “get back to nature”. The 350-acre farm offers unlimited camping sites, but we have a few recommendations depending on the size of the group and how near you want to be to facilities. RV sites with electric and water hookups are also available.

Picture
Natural Resources: The farm has a beautiful and varied natural topography that we encourage visitors to enjoy. Over a mile of the Chaplin River flows through the farm and is navigable by canoe or kayak at most times of the year. At least half of the farm is covered in hardwoods with numerous hiking trails. Fishing is allowed in the pond and river; swimming/paddling is allowed at your own risk. Hay rides down the river valley are a great way for groups to experience parts of the 350-acre farm few people get to see.

Picture
Bonfires: Everyone loves bonfires and Pete is an expert at building them! We're happy to include them in any event at the farm. We provide the wood, please don't bring firewood onto the farm. Smaller campfires are also allowed and we can provide the logs or they can be gathered from the woods.
